Meet Our Team

Rebecca Weston, Academic Support

Rebecca's  20+ years as a math teacher and tutor will give students the skills and strategies to succeed inside and outside the classroom. She can quickly identify the areas where help is most needed and focus on those areas, making sessions effective and engaging. Her experience as a classroom teacher means she knows the common mistakes students make and has strategies to help students avoid making those errors.

Rebecca works with middle and high school students in math (Algebra I, Algebra II/Trig, Geometry, PreCalc, SAT and ACT) and has experience working with students who have attentional, processing, and language challenges (including ADD, dyslexia, and auditory processing challenges). She has two Master's degrees: one in Education (with a concentration in Math Education) and one in Physical Therapy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences. 

Rebecca completed a Masters thesis on math anxiety and she enjoys helping students (and parents!) overcome their apprehensions about math.  She takes the time to listen to her students and is able to explain topics in a variety of ways.  She is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals by taking an active role in their academic growth, building their self-confidence and motivating them to reach their full potential.  

In addition to her work with middle and high school students, Rebecca has also taught and tutored Anatomy & Physiology and Biology at the college level. Having taught college freshmen, she understands the importance of developing good work habits and study skills prior to entering college.

Rebecca's other interests include writing, simplicity, and traveling. When not tutoring, you can find her walking or volunteering on one of the many routes of the Camino de Santiago.
